The Myseum of Toronto is a celebration of the evolution of our communities, cultures, and urban and natural spaces. It connects our recollections of the past with our visions of the future through the ideas, art and artifacts we share. Through the Myseum, we aim to bring about a deeper, more personal understanding and appreciation of all that is Toronto.
The Myseum of Toronto is not just one place, it’s every place. You can experience it online and at pop-up events around the GTA all year long.
The Myseum of Toronto is a non-profit organization, managed by a group of private citizens, but will be co-created by present and former Torontonians from across the GTA and around the world.

David Crombie has served as mayor of Toronto, a member of parliament and a federal cabinet minister. He is the former president and CEO of the Canadian Urban Institute, former chair of Ontario Place Corporation and founding chair of the Waterfront Regeneration Trust. He is president of David Crombie and Associates Inc. and currently serves as chair of the Advisory Council for the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), a director of Mount Pleasant Cemeteries Group and chair of the Toronto Lands Corporation. David Crombie is Chancellor Emeritus of Ryerson University and an honorary fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. He has received honorary degrees from the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and Seneca College. He has been appointed to the Order of Ontario and is an officer to the Order of Canada.
Bev Tudhope, Founding Director of Myseum of Toronto, is a recognized veteran in brand strategy and management, providing thought leadership, strategic planning and creative counsel to major corporations for more than 25 years. A native Torontonian, he co-founded Tudhope Associates, one of Canada’s leading branding and design businesses, and successfully combined it with Interbrand, the world’s largest branding consultancy. Bev now consults on brand assets and communications, and contributes to Canadian innovation by investing and mentoring early-stage information and communication technology companies. He currently serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Marketing and Membership Committees of the Board of the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO), is a current director of the Gardiner Museum, and a past director of Sysomos Inc. and Opera Atelier.
Maureen Marshall, Founding Director of Myseum of Toronto, has had an extensive career as an entrepreneur and marketer, including roles at American Express and Citibank, as well as founding an online environmental products and services company. She has also held a number of leadership positions in not-for-profit and community organizations, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Family Services Association of Toronto. Maureen is currently completing the Masters of Museum Studies program at the University of Toronto, having previously completed a BA (Hons.) in Psychology at the University of Western Ontario and an MBA at York University.
Diane Blake, Founder and Lead Sponsor of Myseum of Toronto, has been a proud Torontonian since 1986. Prior to becoming an archivist, she worked in information technology, and studied at University College in London and the University of Toronto. Diane volunteers with grassroots social groups, and artistic and cultural organizations in Toronto. She is currently co-chairing the fundraising campaign to archive the historic media content of TVO. Along with her husband Stephen Smith, Diane believes the key to building a first-class city is in understanding its past.
Ian Bandeen, Founding Director of Myseum of Toronto, is one of Canada’s leading capital markets experts. He co-founded the Canadian Securitization markets as well as the Canadian Securities Exchange, where he served as CEO until 2011. Ian currently serves as a founding director and Vice-Chair (Finance) of the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO), a member of the Advisory Board for the Faculty of Law at McGill University and the Hot Docs Cinema Advisory Committee. He sits on the Ontario Securities Commission’s Small and Medium Enterprises Committee. He served as a director and chairman of the Business Development Committee at Robarts Research Institute, a director and member of the Finance Committee for the Toronto International Film Festival Group, and a member of the British-North American Committee. He serves as a director of the Art of Time Ensemble, is a long standing trustee of the S.M. Blair Family Foundation, and a proud member of Canada Company. He is a member of the Ontario Bar and holds two law degrees from McGill University. He lives in Toronto with his wife and four children.
Jeff Biggar is an independent urban planning consultant. His professional expertise spans a variety of areas: urban design and public space, municipal finance, and the role of arts and culture in city planning. Jeff has led planning and policy projects for public and private sector clients, with Webb Management Services, ERA Architects, and The Martin Prosperity Institute. He is the author of, ‘Cultural Planning and Governance Innovation: The case of Hamilton’ for Planning Canada, Oxford University Press. Jeff is currently a primary conspirator with ‘The Artful City’, a project that fosters innovative public art practice and policy in Toronto. He has written on this topic, and others, for Spacing Magazine and Municipal World. Jeff holds a PhD in planning from the University of Toronto. He teaches part-time in the city studies program at the University of Toronto Scarborough.
Parna Sabet-Stephenson is a partner at Gowling WLG. She is a nationally and internationally recognized technology lawyer (Who's Who Legal: Canada and Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business). An avid traveller, she is fluent in English, French and Farsi, and a beginner in Spanish. Having lived on three continents, Parna believes that there is no better city than Toronto to live in. She is passionate about our city - its past, present and future. In her free time, she enjoys being a tourist in her own town.
Karen Carter is the Executive Director of the Myseum of Toronto, an innovative approach to the museum experience, and a new way to experience Toronto’s natural spaces, cultures, history, archaeology and architecture. She has over 20 years experience working and volunteering in a variety of cultural and educational settings in Toronto. She is the co-founder and Chair of Black Artists’ Networks Dialogue (BAND), an organization dedicated to the promotion of Black arts and culture in Canada and abroad. Karen is also a faculty member for the Culture and Heritage Site Management program at Centennial College’s Story Arts Centre.
Sarah is an archivist, curator, cultural administrator and writer with a passion for promoting the artworks and artifacts of marginalized communities. She believes in the power of creativity, conversation, and collaboration to change and unite minds. Sarah has a background in the fine arts and museum collections management, and has worked with a wide range of arts and cultural heritage organizations, including the Genocide Archive of Rwanda, the UK’s National Holocaust Centre and Museum, the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives, the Ontario Jewish Archives, the Koffler Centre of the Arts, the Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art, and Ryerson Artspace. As Myseum’s Director of Public Programs, she distills big ideas into accessible opportunities for public engagement.
Josh is a talented, results-driven, communications professional who excels in strategy development, market research, and social media. Boasting a wealth of experience in addition to a keen eye for design, Josh’s career and expertise span both digital and traditional marketing. His peaceful presence has been a welcomed addition to our high-energy office, but behind the calm exterior lies a passion for narrative construction, and a mind continually plotting the next strategic marketing decision. No stranger to exploring new cities or discovering new perspectives of home, Josh is excited to share his favourite aspects of Toronto and learn about yours.
Jess is passionate about collaborating with others to activate her community. She appreciates Toronto’s unique personality and enjoys exploring it in both her spare time and within her role at Myseum. Before finding home in Toronto, Jess was living and working abroad in Dublin, where her experiences motivated her to pursue a future in arts, heritage, and culture. She has a background in heritage management, and has volunteer and work experience with various organizations including Lord Cultural Resources, the Bata Shoe Museum, the Hockey Hall of Fame and SickKids Foundation. As Public Programs Coordinator, Jess is responsible for coordinating community programs and liaising with community partners.
Katy is an administrative professional with a passion for records management. With six years of experience working within both municipal and private administrative environments, it has provided her with a wealth of clerical knowledge, and allowed her to work with a variety of people from across Canada. Additionally, she has a strong interest in cultural heritage, which she explored through studying archaeology and museum studies. She has previously volunteered as the Secretary, and Outreach Coordinator for the Archaeological Institute of America, and as an Educator at the Royal Ontario Museum. Katy is excited to apply her skills as Administrator for Myseum of Toronto.
